Pentecost prayer evening
We celebrated worship at 10 am and additionally had a prayer time in the evening.
Pentecost Evening of Prayer at 7pm.
On Pentecost, we Christians around the world celebrate that God has given a very special gift: the Holy Spirit who fills us.In fact, this is such a great gift for us that Jesus said "It is good for you that I depart. For if I did not go away from you, the Helper (the Holy Spirit) would not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you." Sometimes I think: if Jesus were in our church, it would be full blown. But apparently it's even more blatant when, instead of Jesus being with us, we have the Holy Spirit in us! This needs to be celebrated!
The Holy Spirit works in us to make us grow in faith and to give us deeper communion with God. Add to this that Jesus says, "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth!" (Acts 1:8)
Because all these things are only possible through the Holy Spirit, on Pentecost we want to give thanks to God from our hearts and at the same time ask Him to work even more. Ephesians 5:18 says "Rather, be filled with the Spirit of God!"
How? Simple: we come before God and tell Him how inspiring He is. And we ask Him to work more in our lives, our church and in the region of Höfe. We pray together, read the Word of God and trust that He will work. You are cordially invited to join us in prayer or just to be there.
The prayer time was moving and intense. We are excited about what God is doing and look forward to more times together before God.
