High Sensitivity: An Evening of Discovery with Brigitte Küster

Barbara Callegari June 2024

Welcome to the Evening of Discovery

Highly sensitive people make up around 15-20% of the population. They have a particularly reactive nervous system and are strongly influenced by external stimuli such as sounds, light, smells and environmental details. This manifests itself in being quickly overwhelmed, strong empathy and a need for retreat and quiet. Highly sensitive people think deeply, have a vivid imagination and react intensely to the moods of others.

Parents recognize high sensitivity in their children through sensitivity to clothing labels, exhaustion after hectic situations and a frequent need for retreat. Such children often need more rest periods and a supportive environment in order to develop their potential.

Brigitte Küster, psychologist, counselor, and author of numerous books, will help us recognize the characteristics of high sensitivity and how to deal with them. She will also explain the differences between high sensitivity, ADHD, and Asperger's autism.

This event is aimed at anyone who would like to learn more about the topic of high sensitivity in children and adults. If you are parents of sensitive children, it can be particularly helpful if both parents come to the lecture.
